The Perfect Muse

The designer/muse relationship in fashion inspires legacies of different looks, styles, garments and semi-romances. The “muse” to a designer is, as Greek mythology narrates, a guiding spirit that inspires creation. David was to Michelangelo what Christy Turlington, Linda Evangelista, Naomi Campbell and Cindy Crawford were to Gianni Versace. Using this formula I imagined some fun combinations of characters that should play muse to today’s designing stars, lets see….

Dolce and Gabbana with Betty Boop- a daring and sexy pairing.

Alber Elbaz for Lanvin and Tinkerbell- light weight dressing for flying

Riccardo Tisci for Givenchy and Edward Scissorhands- black leather and hardware

Marc Jacobs and Kermit The Frog- because Marc dresses couples

Miuccia Prada and I Love Lucy -who doesn't love classic prints

Karl Lagerfeld for Chanel and Felix the Cat - Chanel brings out the feline in everyone

Nicolas Ghesquiere for Balenciaga and the  Mighty Morphin Power Rangers- mighty powerful and chic

Francisco Costa for Calvin Klein and The Flintstones- simple, functional and elegant

Rodarte and Gandalf from The Lord of the Rings- draping fabrics into magical art (plus they already kick it with hobbits!)

Proenza Shouler and Daria- because I could see her cursing the world in all their creations

John Galliano and Mimi Bobeck- it just WORKS!

Jean Paul Gaultier and Xena - badass leather wearing warrior princess = the perfect JPG woman!

Versace and Sailor Moon- a match made in the stars; short skirts, blonde hair and lots of glittering!
