| Alexander McQueen Fall/Winter 2010 |
Back to school means fall is finally upon us, and with the abundance of runway looks and popular trends I wanted to condense the fashion jargon to easy, accessible pointers for better dressing. So take out your paper and pen and jot down this seasons coolest advice. Fall/Winter is synonymous with knits, sweaters, coats, scarves, and boots, but here I want to break down some looks and details that are sure to turn your season’s closet into fashion forward and class ready looks.
1)Layering in neutral earth tones is compliments any black leather accessory. The layered blazer and trousers make for an casual approach to formal wear.
1)Keeping everything in creamier softer tones makes for a simple outfit. Simple layering means a simpler outfit, to tone down any look simple remove fabric and expose more contrast.
2) High-water pants are fun ways to emphasize a good pair of socks or shoes. This life jacket is unnecessary, unless you are daring enough to take these pink loafers for a spin.
3)Metallics are seen once again taking over the male runways shows, with the proper layering metallic items could be key to a fun and charismatic ensemble.

4)Wool accented aviator jackets have seen a big comeback, but this all black take on one is key to staying away from the cliches of fashion, and more closely to a personal style statement.

5)A good, sturdy coat is an essential for any wardrobe, but the cut and simplicity of the coat can make a world of a difference for a mans closet. I recommend a slimmer body type to try bigger heavier coats, and the more wider body types to stay closer to the body with more body hugging silhouettes.
5) Variations of coats can outfits more interesting, take this navy blue number for example. The belted waist and angled pockets take the simple into the interesting! On a side note military boots are ALWAYS cool and edgy so if you have not already, GO GET SOME!
6) The blazer- jean relationship needs to be reinvented and moved away from the typical black blazer blue jeans look. Take this set as exemplary, taking flashy pants with a toned down grey blazer and white T makes for an exciting and daring look. Changing colors and fabrics around in what men are comfortable wearing spices up any wardrobe.
7) You can never go wrong with black, well for the most part. Here I recommend trying something out of the ordinary when wearing black, that is to elevate your style game. Men need to take risks even when venturing into an all black outfit.
8) Geek chic done right can be a very promising look, again the rolled up pants and neutral tones are perfect combinations for fall. Simple swearers, prints and messy hair are useful for toning down ultra formal looks while keeping a flare of class.
9) Keep it simple stupid, and im not talking about mathematics. Simple clean lines and colors are always key to having a successful look during winter.
10) Turtle neck sweaters beware! Yes everyone loves wearing turtle necks during winter, they are functional! BUT when wearing them tone them down so they don't stand out, and the simpler the design the better.
11) Finally longer is better, this fall try longer, warmer fabrics that sit comfortably on your body. Winter dressing should be fun, so experiment with a variation of trench coats, blazers, trousers and shoes.
